Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Property Lawyer on behalf of our client, a full-service high-street solicitor’s practice with an enviable reputation in the East Midlands. This exciting opportunity presents the applicant with the ability to develop and contribute to the success of one of the region’s oldest practices.

A considerable proportion of the work of the commercial property department, across all four offices of the firm, involves helping Churches and Christian charities in buying and selling property, leasing property for both Landlords and Tenants, mortgaging property and transferring property as part of structural re-organisations.

Duties:

* To manage a varied caseload of commercial property matters from start to finish including sales and purchases, leases, buy-to-let purchases and sales, development re-financing transactions, charity and charity property matters and other landlord and tenant work

* To take a proactive approach in building professional relationships with clients and other contacts in order to develop our commercial property presence in the area

* To assist colleagues, Directors and Heads of Department with any marketing and training events and initiatives

* To manage and supervise junior staff and support staff including assisting with recruitment, training etc if required

* To use the case management software

The successful candidate will have an understanding of issues affecting Churches and Christian Charities with an empathy for their aims and objectives and a willingness to be part of the team helping Trustees and Ministers make decisions which will have long term impacts on their congregations, communities, and beneficiaries.

You must be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with significant commercial property law experience, and you will need to demonstrate an appreciation of the commercial aspects of commercial property transactions. An ability and willingness to market your services, meet billing targets and be involved in firm-wide marketing initiatives will be important.
