ACS Recruitment have partnered with a well-established multi-service and multi-office Practice who are seeking enthusiastic Conveyancing Assistants to join the Northampton and Bedford offices.

This is the perfect opportunity for a candidate with previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary and can demonstrate an understanding of the Conveyancing and Legal processes. Dealing with queries raised by clients, solicitors, lenders and estate agents
Assist Fee Earner in preparing report on title, report on mortgage and search report for clients
Use Land Registry portal to submit registrations, replying to requisitions and ordering official copies, leases and title plans
Generate Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submit applications
Drafting forms such as AP1s and TP1s
Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, Lexcel and Firm procedures
Preparing quotes to clients and drafting completion statements
Raising enquiries and replying to requisitions
Opening/closing files (including AML checks)
Making detailed attendance notes of all correspondence
Opening/closing files (including AML checks)
Keeping files updated with correspondence (electronic and hard copy)
Administrative support (including photocopying and scanning etc)
Dictation/Audio typing
General administration work
Carry out searches online
Preparing and submitting bills, receipts and payments to the finance team for fee earners
Occasional reception cover

The Candidate

Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary
Understanding of the conveyancing process
Good knowledge of operations of a legal office
Advanced computer literacy (word, excel, outlook)
Knowledge of case management software
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent attention to detail
