This position is for a full-time experienced Solicitor to join our busy Corporate & Commercial Department. The applicant must be able to demonstrate an aptitude for a variety of business-related disciplines.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be actively involved in and to experience all practice areas summarised below:
* Acquisitions & Disposals (including advising on employee ownership trusts)
* Corporate Finance
* Restructuring
* Share Option Schemes
* Shareholders Agreements
* Contractual Frameworks with Customers & Suppliers
* Agency, Distribution & Franchising
* E Commerce
* Data Protection
* Protection & Exploitation of IP Rights
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:
* A strong desire to work in Corporate & Commercial disciplines,
* Providing legal support to owner managed and SME sized businesses, from start-ups to established companies with owners that are looking to accelerate growth or plan a successful exit.
* In addition to running their own caseload and building up a portfolio of clients for whom they will be the principal point of contact, the role will involve mentoring and supervising trainee and newly qualified solicitors in the Department and liaising closely with the Departmental Head on a strategic and operational level with a view to becoming Departmental Head in two years’ time.
* An entrepreneurial flair or interest in business development would also be a welcome asset given the Department’s commitment to growth and to involving all our members in marketing and development initiatives
