We are delighted to be recruiting for a Part Time 20-30 hour a week Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor. This is a great opportunity to be part of an energetic team in a role that is initially a 6 month, part time contract. However, there may be an opportunity to go permanent.

The role will have the fluidity to plan, implement and innovative programmes across the business. Your role is to contribute to promoting and achieve good relations and practices in respect to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The role is initially a 6 month contract. Monday to Friday 20 – 30 hours per week, with a salary of circa £30K pro rata plus excellent non salaried benefits.

This position will involve in the development, monitoring and review of policies and strategies designed to ensure the organisation is a diverse place to work from an inclusion perspective.

Responsibilities of an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor:

Research, apply and promote diversity initiatives and share best practice

Identify opportunities to collaborate with other departments, to ensure activities enhance the companies EDI strategy and overall workplace culture.

Provide advice, guidance and support on equality and diversity issues

Assist in the maintenance of the companies Investors in People accreditation

Promote and challenge changes within the organisation and the wider community

Develop systems for reporting any incidents of discrimination

Interact with colleagues at all levels and from a range of backgrounds

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of anti-discriminatory legislation

Translate equality legislation into practice to ensure the business meets statutory requirements

Assist in the collection of diversity data for submission to the regulators

Write, implement and review relevant policies

Present reports and recommendations

Develop, implement, and evaluate an EDI Training and Engagement plan covering topics such as recruitment, leadership, and culture to ensure employees, subcontractors and suppliers understand how EDI is relevant to the business

Contribute to the successful delivery the EDI strategy by reviewing trends in the recruitment and procurement data and signpost where improvements are required.

Promote good relations and practices towards different minority groups – assessing needs and promoting cohesion, raising awareness of equality issues and promoting change

Prepare and deliver presentations and training workshops to colleagues, stakeholders and external organisations.

Skills and Experience for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor:

Experience working in a similar role

Strong understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion with the ability to explain specific benefits to a wide range of audiences

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

Be able to inform, influence and persuade key stakeholders across a spectrum of seniority levels, perspectives or backgrounds

Ability to project manage and evaluate the impact of key diversity and inclusion initiatives

End-to-end experience of planning, implementing, and evaluating EDI initiatives

Able to develop, deliver and evaluate diversity and inclusion training in multiple formats to suit a range of different audiences

Strong time management and able to manage several projects simultaneously

Critical and creative thinking – ability to see how processes and procedures can be enhanced with a diversity and inclusion lens

Committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion

Excellent written, including report writing and oral communication skills

Cultural sensitivity

The ability to work as part of a team

Conflict-resolution skills

Self-motivation and an ability to use initiative

Presentation and training skills

Proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint
