Family Paralegal: Assist the matrimonial lawyer in their handling of client matters, ensuring a pro-active and high level of client care and compliance with the National Practice Standards in matters involving child custody, divorce, tax and finance laws, adoption, social services, and any other issues concerning families and the law.
You may conduct interviews with parties involved in domestic disputes, divorce or child custody. Other duties would include drafting correspondence, applications, statements, letters of instruction, briefs to Counsel and preparing Court bundles for approval, therefore competent typing skills with good attention to detail is required. With this, we are also seeking an individual who can undertake legal research, instruct Counsel and attend Court to sit behind Counsel, along with organising files, assisting with costs and diary management and undertake legal support tasks (such as dictation, scanning, photocopying and file review/closure), whilst ensuring both time recording and billing targets are met.
Ideally the Family Paralegal will already be experienced in Family Law however, on this occasion, our client will consider Graduates with experience from a different sector and keen interest in Family Law.
The position would involve regular client contact, therefore excellent written and oral communication skills would be paramount.
As well as a law degree, we are hoping to see CILEX, however, please don’t hesitate to send a CV if you feel you have the ability to succeed in this field, but have not already gained the CPQ
