Due to continuous growth, we have an opportunity for a Head of Brokerage to join our Brokerage Team.
Head of Brokerage – The Role:
To drive profitability, quality, and growth of brokered services for Enva England Specialist Waste Limited. Leading the Supply Chain and Broker teams, this role will drive the performance and engagement of the supply chain focused on service delivery and mobilisation of new services.
Head of Brokerage – Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance
– Ensure that the highest standard of health and safety and compliance are maintained in accordance with business standards.
Commercial
– Full responsibility for P&L for 3rd party brokered waste services.
– Support the Senior Finance business partner in budget development and weekly forecasting process.
– Support sales and commercial teams to develop tender proposals for large account customers and new prospects.
– Identify new sub-contracted services and products and manage the implementation of same.
– Manage and expand our sub-contractor relationships including commercial negotiations.
– Support the business development process, identify, and deliver opportunities from our existing customer base and new customers.
Operations
– Planning, development, and implementation of the brokerage strategy for the business; responsible for continually reviewing the strategy, updating and revising as necessary.
– Expand brokerage service lines to diversify service offering and increase customer retention.
– Support the development and improve customer management information and reporting to best in industry.
– Act as point of escalation for customer and account performance issues.
Communications and team work
– Foster a culture of collaboration and clear communication within and outside of the brokerage team.
– Support analysis of current/future markets and development opportunities in order to further develop business sustainability.
Leadership
– Provide strong leadership for the team.
– Set clear objectives and targets, ensure regular reviews.
– Develop individuals to fulfil their potential and create clear succession plans for key roles.
– Manage headcount/FTE plans ensuring balance between cost efficiencies and operational requirements.
Head of Brokerage – Knowledge, Experience and Personal Skills:
Required:
• Strong commercial background, experience in subcontracts management, managing supplier relationships and cross functional teams.
• Experience of reporting to a Board and the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven track record on target performance.
• Excellent project and programme management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressured environment.
• Understanding of business development processes including bid and proposal management.
• In-depth experience in managing complex environments and at forecasting and territory planning.
• Good knowledge of procurement lifecycle and supply chain management principals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentation and documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Analytical and logical in approach with the ability to analyse data and formulate action plans.
• Ability to engage and influence the right organisational resources and behaviours to effectively identify, mitigate and resolve subcontractor/ contractor issues.
• Problem solver, with ability to identify and implement sustainable solutions to customer requests.
• Highly focused on delivering results and objectives with a strong personal commitment to supporting the business in achieving its goals in a changing environment.
• Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions – should be transparent, open and honest in all dealings.
• Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Experience working within waste industry most desirable, however, alternate industries (manufacturing, oil, gas, fuel, food) with relevant experience will be considered.
