We are looking to recruit an Associate Director / Head of Building Control for one of our clients in Merseyside.
Out client is a multi-disclned consultancy woith regional offices UK wide. They are award-winning team of established health and safety advisors designed and tailored to the construction industry.
Due to continued growth, successful delivery of projects, and further contracts being awared this means they are looking to inctrease their staffing levels.
Chartered Membership of CABE, RICS, CIOB or equivalent
Conversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance and the Construction Industry Council Code of Conduct
Previous in-house or external building control experience
Demonstrable building control case management (portfolio of work)
Ability to manage a caseload of regional building control works at different stages of the build
Current valid driving licence.
Implement and create operating procedures for a newly created building control division
Working with senior managers to fully promote building control services to both new and existing customers
Advise the public on the requirements of Building Regulations and other related legislation.
Process complex applications under Building Regulations, liaise with and offer guidance to applicants and draft determinations.
Carry out inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, engaging specialist colleagues when required.
Dangerous structure call-outs – where necessary
Significant experience in building control (Fire and structures)
Significant stakeholder liaison experience
Be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Building Regulations in respect of all projects up to and including those which are large complex.
Experience in delivering high-value complex commercial / industrial projects
Working within a team environment
Experience in assisting and negotiating with design teams and major stakeholders to achieve compliance with the BR and associated legislation
Experience in leading and managing junior team members
Package: £55,000 – £65,000 plus a car allowance of 10%
Options to sacrifice salary to switch to an electric car.
