Location – Remote (London Office)
Salary – £65k – £75k + bonus + shares
Douglas Scott has exclusively partnered with leading Energy business in their search for a Legal Counsel. This is a remote based role with once a month travel to London.
The successful candidate will be joining a company at the forefront of the Energy Infrastructure sector which has continued plans for growth in both the UK & Europe. Commercial Solicitors seeking a broad in-house role will enjoy the variety and scope to enhance their in-house career.
Working closely with and supported by an excellent, hands on Head of Legal, you’ll play a key role in helping to build the Legal function in order to support a growing business. Alongside the day-to-day legal advice (listed below), you’ll support the development, implementation and improvement of legal processes, assist with the roll-out of legal/compliance training, and input into business wide teams for a variety of critical projects.
A positive aspect of the small legal team is the assurance that you’ll be exposed to all areas of the business, including Senior stakeholders from Group, Finance, Sales, Implementation, IT, HR etc.
A flavour of the responsibilities below:
Draft and negotiate commercial contracts (including, without limitation, supply agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, consultancy agreements and customer contracts)
Acting as a business partner and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the full project lifecycle (development, construction, and operations)
Opportunity to work on M&A/strategic transactions
Overseeing UK subsidiary company secretarial and corporate matters, working closely with the Finance team and external advisorsIdeally, to give the successful candidate the right pace of career development, this role is suited to Solicitors with 2-5 years PQE in Commercial contracts. Some exposure to Infrastructure contracts such as NEC is beneficial, but not essential.
