Position: Legal Counsel with NHS framework experience
Suitable for: Legal Consultant, Legal Advice, Legal Assistance or Solicitor
Location: Homebased with travel to office in Milton Keynes
Duration: 12-month FTC
Salary: up to £65,000
Our client is an innovative, highly successful software organisation supplying leading edge technology to the NHS. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Commercial/Legal Team as a Legal Counsel. This is a temporary position responsible for supporting the company in their contracting activities with their customers and suppliers, and assisting the Chief Financial Officer, Sales Director and Executive Board with a range of corporate affairs.
The role will be homebased; however, the Legal Counsel will be required to travel into the Milton Keynes offices when required.
Essential:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Legal Counsel or similar
* Postholder must possess a degree (ideally in Law) and a legal professional qualification (ideally as a Solicitor)
* Experience of dealing with contracting in IT fields
* Experience in corporate legal affairs
* Writing ability – precise, succinct, simple but not oversimplified
* Attention to detail
* Negotiation ability – comfortable carrying the flag for the Business in contract negotiations
* Demonstrated interest in legal and contract matters
* Demonstrated interest in healthcare and/or information technology
* People skills – e.g. teamwork orientation; helping others achieve their goals; getting results from others; negotiation skills; etc.
* Time management and ability to set and adjust priorities and work to tight deadlines
* PC skills – MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Sharepoint, and similar applications
Desirable:
* NHS and/or local government experience
* Public sector non-NHS experience
* UK public procurement law knowledge – legal and practical
* Experience in property and employment
