Salary is flexible depending on experience and qualifications.
 
Key responsibilities:

To keep abreast of current developments and changes in legislation
Provide advice and assistance to clients of the firm who have been detained at a police station by telephone and/or person when accredited
Attend upon clients of the firm either at court or in the office or in custody or elsewhere to obtain their instructions and provide them with advice and assistance
To attend upon other such as witnesses and experts at the office or elsewhere to obtain relevant statements, evidence or opinions in connection with clients cases
Visit relevant sites and prepare plans, sketches and/or photographs and render any evidence thus obtained into admissible form.
Communicate effectively with clients and other parties by letter and telephone and in person
Attend upon and assist Counsel, clients and witnesses at court hearings and at case conferences
Assist Fee Earners in the preparation of clients cases and undertaking relevant research where appropriate
Ensuring Clients affairs and the business of the firm are kept confidential
Obtain accreditation and so enable participation in the firms out of hours rota to provide advice and assistance at police stations
Perform all tasks and duties as should reasonably be required from time to time and to be at all times accountable to the Departmental Manager.
Generally, to use best endeavours to promote the interest and welfare of the firm and its clients.
To observe and perform the guidelines and procedures contained in the Office and Departmental Manuals Key skills:

Basic knowledge and understanding of legal principles and current legislation.
Education to A Level standard to include GCSE (Grade C) or equivalent in English Language and/or relevant legal experience.
File management skills.
Investigative skills.
Ability to prioritise work and function effectively under pressure.
Ability to work to set deadlines.
Ability to get on with people.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proper client care in accordance with the firm's requirements.
Police station accreditation or ability to obtain same
