Our client has a permanent, full time vacancy for a Private Client Paralegal/Administrator. It would be advantageous if the successful candidate has previous experience in a Trusts and Estates environment, although training will be given.

This role will involve providing full legal & administrative support across the unit. The role will also include visiting clients at their home or care home, therefore a car owner/driver is essential.

Duties will include but are not limited to –

* Creation and registration of Lasting Power of Attorneys Applications for Deputy orders including conducting client meetings;

* Applications for Gifting /Statutory Wills/Trustees and other mixed Court of Protection applications;

* Undertaking initial assessment of files to include reviewing clients’ financial position, funding and receipt of appropriate benefits.

* Annual meetings with clients who lack capacity to manage finances, including reviewing care plans;

* Collating information for client tax returns and liaising with appropriate referrers;

* Completion of Office of the Public Guardian annual reports.

* Processing instructions relating to Attorneyship/Deputyship administration work in accordance with established procedures of good practice, the firm’s quality system and the Office of the Public Guardian’s (OPG) Professional Deputy Standards

Supporting the team with the management of the overall caseload to include:

* maintaining appropriate records on file and updating communal client lists, spreadsheets and records;

* Assisting with the case management system, filing, photocopying and telephone enquires;

* Assisting in marketing activities as directed.

The position is integral to the smooth running of this very busy team. You will need to be calm under pressure, well organised, have a flexible approach and be able to cope with a variety of demands placed upon you. Key to the role is a professional, attentive, empathetic and considerate telephone manner along with first-rate communication skills. Other essential skills include an accurate presentation of work (attention to detail), excellent time management and a methodical approach
