Job Title: Procurement Lawyer
Location: Cardiff
Remuneration: £47,000 – £65,000 per year
Responsibilities:
Our client, a highly reputable UK law firm providing tailored legal solutions to various clients, is currently seeking a Procurement Lawyer with expertise across non-contentious procurement. As a trusted partner to public and private sector clients, our client has a well-established commercial practise and is ranked Band 1 in the Administrative and Public Law category by Chambers and Partners.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to handle a breadth of mostly non-contentious procurement work across sectors such as education, healthcare, defence and security, local and national government, and public bodies.
This will involve designing procurement processes, drafting procurement documents, and working closely with clients. You will also provide specific expertise in support of large-scale projects and commercial contracts as part of our client's wider Commercial Team. Additionally, there will be opportunities to provide training to clients in anticipation of the Procurement Act 2023 coming into force later in 2024.

Key Responsibilities:
Conducting non-contentious procurement work for a range of clients across sectors such as education, healthcare, defence and security, local and national government, and public bodies.
Designing procurement processes and drafting procurement documents.
Working closely with clients to provide expert advice and support.
Contributing to large-scale projects and commercial contracts as part of our client's Commercial Team.
Providing training to clients in anticipation of the Procurement Act 2023.
Embedding yourself in our client's Commercial practise by spending at least 3 days a week at their Cardiff office.Experience and Skills Required:
2+ years PQE as a lawyer (although NQE+ may be considered).
Strong background in good quality procurement and/or commercial work across the public sector.
Confidence to run a procurement process with limited supervision.
Experience in subsidy control law would be advantageous.
Commitment to supporting the growth agenda across England and Wales.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong drafting skills and technical competence.
Commercial awareness and self-motivation.
Ability to work well in a team and support junior colleagues.
Excellent IT skills.Remuneration and Benefits:
Yearly salary ranging from £47,000 to £65,000 (DOE)
