Senior Environmental Consultant
Full Time, Consulting Vacancy In Ayrshire and Arran
Our client is one of the UK’s leading consultants specialising in waste management, environmental, health and safety solutions. They deliver strategic advice, support and training to the waste management, facilities management and construction industries in both the public and private sectors.
They are looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Consultant to join their growing team. The successful candidate will possess an Honours or Master’s degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering, the physical sciences, or similar with at least 8 years’ experience in a senior consultancy role. Professional chartership(s) would also be viewed favourably.
Skills
You will need to show evidence in the following:
* Minimum 8 years’ experience within a similar role
* Environmental permitting (e.g. Industrial Emissions Directive, PPC permitting, Waste Management Licencing) and associated regulator liaison (e.g. SEPA)
* Knowledge of the planning system related to waste facilities.
* Knowledge and experience of waste treatment technologies (e.g. energy from waste, anaerobic digestion) and associated impacts including air quality, water quality
* Water and air pollution control strategies/technologies
* Operation of waste facilities including engineering requirements.
* Data analysis experience
* IT skills, including word processing, advanced use of spreadsheets and presentation packages
* Project and Client management skills
* Organisation skills and good time management
* Must be eligible to work in the UK
* Full UK Driving licence
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with other senior consultants and will be involved in all aspects of professional input to environmental projects. As a Senior environmental consultant you will need to:
* Manage multidisciplinary projects
* Provide technical support for waste projects
* Liaise with clients and other stakeholders as required
* Provide mentoring to less experienced members of staff
* Prepare technical documentation associated with waste facilities
* Advise on best courses of action based on research findings

* Main office based in Ayr, with hybrid working options available
