My client are a prominent planning consultancy based in Leeds, dedicated to providing expert planning advice and solutions to a wide range of clients. The team are a passionate bunch of professionals dedicated to town planning and development consultants. They provide planning advice and services to developers, landowners and private individuals across all sectors of development to secure viable residential, commerical and mixed-use developments across the UK.
Job Description:
They are looking for a talented and motivated Planner/ Senior with approximately 3 years worth of experience either in the private sector or local authority. As a Senior Planner, you will work on a variety of planning projects, contributing to the delivery of high-quality planning services to their clients. You will collaborate with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to provide strategic planning advice and support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
* Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning policy research.
* Provide support in the development of planning strategies and reports.
* Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
* Attend and contribute to meetings and public consultations.
* Monitor and interpret changes in planning legislation and policy.
* Support senior planners and directors in project management and delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
* Membership or working towards membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
* Approximately 3 years of experience in a planning consultancy or local authority.
* Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy.
* Excellent communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive, with strong organizational and time management skills.
* Proficient in planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
