Sue Ross Legal are working with a legal services company who are in need of a Legal Cashier to provide cover from January 2023 to April 2023. Our client’s office is based in Derby but they will also consider candidates who are looking for remote work.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a solid background with Legal Aid Cashiering, and particularly Family Legal Aid.

Duties within the role will include;

* Processing LAA Statements, paying disbursements, dealing with LAA queries

* Preparing, checking and processing bank payments (BACS/CHAPS/Etc)

* Checking and posting invoices

* Bank reconciliations

* Ledger reconciliations

* Posting disbursements

* Residual balance investigation

* Compliance reporting

* Supporting year end audit and accounts audit

The candidate should be familiar with the SRA Accounts Rules and Legal Aid to a high level, including reconciling LAA Statements for Family and Criminal Legal Aid clients and dealing with complex queries.

You will need to be available to start work in mid-January and be available until the end of April.
